Web3-Laptop-Thomson

Metavisio will launch the first Web3 laptop in 25′.

The Web3 revolution is set to expand beyond smartphones, as European tech company Metavisio unveils plans to launch the world’s first Web3 laptop. Developed by its subsidiary Thomson Computing, the laptop is designed to merge cutting-edge blockchain technology with everyday functionality, catering to students, gamers, and general users alike.

Crypto Cold Wallet Now In a Laptop

The laptop’s standout feature is its integrated cold storage wallet, housed within a secure enclave chipset. This ensures cryptocurrency private keys are stored offline, significantly enhancing security against hacks. It will initially support Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) networks, Bitcoin, XRP, and Bittensor, with plans for broader compatibility in the future.

Powered by a proprietary “Web3 OS”, the laptop aims to unify Web3 tools for a seamless user experience. The operating system is expected to be completed by Q1 2025, with prices ranging from €499 ($523) to €2,000 ($2,100). Metavisio has hinted at gamified elements, such as token rewards for completing tasks, though users will need to complete a KYC process to claim them.

The Web3 laptop is designed for a future where you truly own your digital experience,” said Stephan Français, Founder & CEO of Metavisio and Thomson Computing. “By seamlessly unifying Web3 tools, we’re laying the foundation to empower the next billion users.”

Web3 Devices: A Growing Trend

Metavisio’s announcement follows a wave of Web3-enabled devices hitting the market.

  • XProtocol’s XForge Phone: Released in September, this Ethereum-powered smartphone features 256GB storage, 12GB RAM, and a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. Designed for gamers, the DePIN-enabled phone allows users to earn rewards and participate in airdrops via a layer-3 network.
  • JamboPhone 2: Priced at just $99, Jambo’s latest Web3 phone builds on the success of its predecessor, now recognized as the most globally distributed Web3 mobile device.
  • Solana Seeker Smartphone: Following the success of the sold-out Saga, Solana has unveiled its next Web3 phone, Seeker, with presales already exceeding 140,000 units. Scheduled for a 2025 release, Seeker will feature exclusive dApps, rewards, and ecosystem-driven functionalities tailored for Solana users.

A Glimpse into the Future

With Web3 laptops and smartphones paving the way for decentralized ownership and gamified user experiences, the era of blockchain-driven devices is closer than ever. Whether you’re a gamer, student, or crypto enthusiast, these innovations promise to redefine digital interactions in a way that bridges everyday tech with blockchain capabilities.
